Cloud — Getting Started

This guide prepares you for cloud deployment — publishing your Pycora Pro site online and editing it from any device.

Estimated time: 10–15 minutes.

Before You Begin

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • Python 3.8+ installed — Local Getting Started
  • Node.js (LTS) installed — required for Decap CMS
  • Git installed — required for GitHub
  • A GitHub account — sign up free

If you have not installed Python, Node.js, or Git yet, do that first:

👉 Local Getting Started →

Then come back to this page.

What Cloud Deployment Means

In Local mode, everything happens on your computer:

  • Edit content → rebuild → view at localhost:8000
  • Site is not public

In Cloud mode, your site lives online:

  • Edit content → commit to GitHub → auto rebuild → live at your-site.com
  • Edit from any device, anywhere
  • Custom domain, HTTPS, CDN — all free

The Cloud Workflow

Here is the full cloud workflow — 4 steps:

1. Push to GitHub

Your project goes to a GitHub repository. Every change is tracked.

👉 GitHub Setup →

2. Deploy to a Host

Connect your GitHub repo to Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, or Vercel. The host rebuilds your site on every push.

👉 Deploy →

3. Set Up Cloud CMS

Configure Decap CMS to log in via Netlify Identity or GitHub OAuth. Edit content from any browser.

👉 CMS Access →

4. Edit and Rebuild

Every save commits to GitHub and triggers an automatic rebuild.

👉 Auto Build →
